New episodes of Futurama will begin later this month on ELEVEN.
ELEVENÂ lists the series as Season 8 although it appears to be the first of four remaining episodes from Season 6.
“The Silence of the Clamps.”
Fry can’t remember why he’s covered with horrible burns. Professor Farnsworth explains: it all began a few days ago, while they were on the run from Zapp Brannigan. On it’s escape the planet express plunged into the panama wormhole and took them all straight back to earth. Problem is Zapp was hot on their tail, so when they made a crash landing…so did he, right into their ship.
Though the professor managed to protect their heads from the crash, their bodies, with the exception of Fry’s, are toast, and poor Leela is in a coma that could be irreversible.
Meanwhile Bender has to dance continously to keep from exploding…which is, of course, hilarious.
It airs 8:00pm Wednesday June 29th.

Wait, I cannot fathom it being so straigtohfrward.
“The Silence of the Clamps” is the next episode in the production order of this season (Season 6) – however Comedy central has chosen to screen “Neutopia” and “Benderama” as the first episodes of this year’s broadcast season. Neutopia will most likely be airing as the season premiere here too.
It’s good to see that Channel 10 is fast tracking this, but I recommend they air Benderama on the same night, otherwise they are going to end up almost two weeks behind the Comedy Central screenings, and that’s just too long a wait for me.
@Andy: The Holiday Spectacular episode was the 13th. That leaves another 13 episodes in this “block”.
Comedy Central’s initial production order was 26 eps. We have seen 14 (I assume Eleven has shown the Holiday Spectacular episode?) so we have 12 to go in this “block”. There will be another 26 over the next 2 years.
Technically, this will be the “8th season” of Futurama in terms of how it has been broadcast (as FOX has aired many episodes out of their original order, and has held back episodes from previous season’s production runs to air later on); however, in production terms, this marks the second half of the sixth production order for the show. I know it’s confusing, but here’s a quick breakdown…
Season 1 – First production order
Season 2 – First and second production order
Season 3 – Second and third production order
Season 4 – Third and fourth production order
Season 5 – Third and fourth production order
Season 6 – Fifth production order
Season 7 – First half of sixth production order
Season 8 – Second half of sixth production order (Current season)
Season 9 – First half of seventh production order (2012 season)
Season 10 – Second half of seventh production order (2013 season)
Hooray for Zoidberg!
this is the wrong summary.
This is the summary supplied by TEN.
I can’t remember the last ep I watch, but good to see it back.
The US won’t see this episode until July 14th.
Scruffy hear’s ya . Scruffy don’t care …. yep .
that summary is from the episode “rebirth”, which was the first ep of season 6. The Silence of the Clamps was listed as the first new ep of the 2nd half of season 6 (as comedy central have elected to break the season up into 13 ep blocks), however “Neutopia” is now listed a the premiere ep (3 days!!!). A little confused. It would be great if we get an ep not yet seen in the states!
Yeah the plot about Bender having to dance non stop does sound familiar.
Yeah, I remember watching the episode described on Eleven a while ago. It was either that ep or a very similar one…
Good news, everybody….
I wonder if Eleven got the plot summary wrong? That one sounds like the first episode of last season.
