New host of Ready Steady Cook, Colin Lane, begins on the TEN cooking show later this month with new episodes.

Lane replaces Peter Everett for the seventh season of the show. He is the third presenter for the show, which began in 2005.

Fresh from his role on The Circle, where he took on hosting duties for Gorgi Coghlan during her maternity leave, Colin Lane joins the swag of top notch chefs as he prepares to shake things up.

  1. Really looking forward to seeing Colin Lane hosting the show. I think he will make an interestingly good change. He’s a good entertainer and seems to be good with people on other shows so I think he will do really well on this show! Looking forward to seeing him again.

  2. Love Col! I was getting sooo over Peter Everett’s stupid sleazy comments to the chefs. It’s uncomfortable to watch.
I’m sure Col will provide some real comedic entertainment on the show

  3. Colin Lane is a comedic icon in Australia and people need to get over Peter being replaced. Lano makes anything interesting and we should support him for landing this job. On ya Col!

  4. You guys are so slack, give Colin a chance! He is actually hilarious and to be honest I kinda got sick of Peter too. Peter was funny and all but he just got annoying, I’m sure Colin will fit right in, he’s a great guy!!

  5. I’m sad to see Peter E. go because I think he made a fairly boring show watchable. I will give Colin a chance, but not for long, because I just don’t warm to him. Do we know what Peter will do next? Isn’t it ironic that it was only just over a year ago (I think) that RSC was Logie nominated – with Peter at the helm!!

  6. Thank cripes for that! The “ch’k-ch’k boom!” girl would have been less irritating than Everett! Good on Collin for bagging the gig!

  7. I have never endured an entire ep of RSC, but have certainly been aware of Pete’s distinctively energetic and tactile persona – sort of endearing, but a whole hour, for five years! TV is a savage biz, i know, and a change is as good as a holiday (or in tv terms a retool), but Colin Lane? I find, a little of him goes a long way, like many of the comedians in this country. Without the lovely Woodley, Lano is a bit of a one note persona. But admittedly i have not seen more than a minute of him on the Circle. I don’t find him easy to warm to. I guess they want to revamp the show into more comedic or more sardonic style. Colin’s your man!

  8. Can’t wait for Colin’s episodes to start.

Peter’s been a great host for the show but I think it’s one that could do with a new host every few years, if only because it’s a different voice asking the same questions about the different foods.

And it’s true he’s pretty polarising… a lot of people seem uneasy with the way he feels and gropes the chefs and contestants.

  9. I’m really looking forward to Colin Lane hosting! As much as I enjoyed Peter Everett, you have to admit, you either loved or hated him. That means there are a whole bunch of people who stopped watching Ready Steady Cook who may tune in now.

Colin Lane has done some cooking segments on The Circle which were very entertaining, so I think he’s a perfect replacement.

People need to wait for the new episodes to air before they judge Colin Lane as a poor host.

I think Sandra Sully and Natarsha Belling going head-to-head will be quite interesting!

  10. Why did they get Colin Lane, it won’t be the same without Peter.
I was in the studio audience (with a school excursion) and peter was nice to the audience, and seemed to get along with all the staff.

  11. Peter Everett is a polarising personality. Some people find him creepy, some people find him endearing. Either way, I can’t imagine the show without him.

  12. @ Peter Young……
The show debuted in 2005, where it was hosted by former chef Nick Stratford…. (He was a very tall guy..and they had trouble getting him in the shots) . It aired weekdays at 1pm……..Former Nine Network personality Peter Everett took over the hosting job in January 2006 to coincide with Ten’s new daytime lineup……
He was late starting…..had a fall from ice skating show on Nine….. From 2006, it has aired at 2pm…….In March 2011, it was announced that Colin Lane would replace Everett from June…..
I will give it a go with CL….but he does not impress me…so not sure for how long….I will miss Pete…. 🙁

  13. Sounds Good but the only real problem is that Pete Everett is Gone!!! he was the Best Host! and i dont like Colin Lane his boring and iv’e heard a lot of people say the same thing that Colin Lane is not very Good!!!

  14. I wonder if Colin’s next door neighbour Mitchell will watch RSC? I had heard Col and Frank Wooodley caused him a fair bit of grief over the years. I know Col was also a pizza delivery driver so I’m glad he has found a more fullfilling role, although it is still associated with food. I think he will go very well.
