Seven has announced a new dating series, Dinner Date, to be hosted by French chef Manu Fieldel (My Kitchen Rules, Dancing With The Stars, Ready Steady Cook).
The weekly series will ask a single guy or girl to peruse five dinner menus, choose the three most appealing menus and embark on three blind dates with the successful chefs in their own home.
The series appears to be based on the ITV format of the same name.
“I can’t think of a better way to get to know someone than over dinner,” says Fieldel.
“Either way, they’ll enjoy some wonderful food and have a lot of fun.
“And you just never know where you can find love these days.”
No word on an airdate yet or whether the show will feature both gay and straight couples.

@jmgirl Hey -where did you see some of this? Is there a promo somewhere?
Love Manu and this looks Goodo.
I also like Manu but I hate hate hate dating shows. I will be avoid this like the plague.
I’ve seen some of this. It’s actually terrific.
Love Manu, so am glad to see he will remain on our screens for a while. Seven cast their reality shows really well, so as long as they get the casting right it should be fine. Sounds like a Saturday or Sunday night, 6.30 slot kinda show. However, I do wonder about over-exposure for Manu. If he does this and it is successful, I don’t think he should do MKR as well, otherwise he will be over exposed.
I don’t mean to bring up my gayness all the time, but I don’t really like dating shows because there’s not going to be any gays involved and unfortunately, I don’t think there will be for a long long time.
