This will make you feel old. Sonic the Hedgehog is turning 20.
The first SEGA video game starring the character was released on June 23, 1991, as a rival to Nintendo’s flagship character Mario.
American animated series The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was first broadcast in 1993, with just one series of 65 episodes.
To celebrate his anniversary KidsCo will be screening a Sonic Underground Marathon featuring 11 super-charges and super fast episodes from 3:10pm until 7:30pm on Thursday June 23.

What i great milestone for the gaming industry. THe thing is that video game characters will always be working. I hope to see Sonic in another 20 yrs.
To think, in my teenage years I actually found someone dumb enough to trade Arnold Palmer Golf for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (!)
