Spicks and Specks curtain nears

ABC1 hit music quiz Spicks and Specks will film its final episode next week.

It won’t air until the end of the year, but Spicks and Specks will film its final episode next week with a cavalcade of stars.

Host Adam Hills, and team captains Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough decided to call it a day last month.

“We always said we wanted to leave when we were on top and while we were still having fun, and now feels like the right time,” Adam Hills recently said.

Since the end of the show has been announced there has been no shortage of candidates putting up their hand to replace Hills. But their pleas have not been heard.

The one-hour finale will screen in late November.

  3. Alan was on the radio this morning and said there will be no speccy christmas this year.

    He said the final episode will be shown on nov 23rd and there will be 4 different panels in the hour long show.

    Christmas week wont be the same.

  6. @Bazza I agree, there was indeed a repeat, of which I remember the guy from Dinosaur Jr. was featured as a contestant. The show had a very long run, at a time when shows were falling by the wayside after being axed. I do remember someone else mentioning the thought of bringing Never Mind the Buzzcocks to Australian free-to-air TV, it would probably go down well.

  7. Next week is a repeat, are there more new episodes coming before November? They snuck in a repeat episode a couple of weeks ago as well.

    While I’m sad it’s ending,
    I’m glad they’re going out on a high!
    It wouldn’t be the same if they did it without Adam, Alan & Myf.

  11. Arrrggh!! I still don’t believe this is happening – S&S is the only genuinely entertaining & funny variety-style show left to watch… As opposed to formulaic “reality” tv. Please Adam & ABC — please don’t goooo! 🙁

  16. I wish they would still the live shows. They are awesome! I too will miss this. My tivo will wonder what has happened when it stop recording it 🙂

  17. Does that mean the show will stop in a few weeks, and then will have a special in November? Or will it continue with weekly episodes until November?

  18. I will miss the show very much and wish Adam, Alan, Myf, Hamish and everyone who works behind-the-scenes all the very best.

    I sure hope there will still be a Christmas episode in December, as the Festive season won’t be the same otherwise.

  21. Im really goinh to miss this show. I was a late comer to this show and only started to watch it 2 years ago. I just hope they still do a very speccy christmas this year as well.
