US castings: Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, White Collar.

Terry O’Quinn is joining the cast of Hawaii Five-0, Thomas Gibson is returning to Criminal Minds and Beau Bridges guest stars on White Collar. Minor spoilers.

Minor Spoilers: Here’s an update on some casting moves going on in US TV shows:

TV Line reports Terry O’Quinn is joining the cast of Hawaii Five-0 in a pivotal recurring role. The role not only brings him back to “the island”, but it reunites him with Lost castmate Daniel Dae Kim. O’Quinn will play a Navy Seal Lt. Commander who trained Alex O’Loughlin’s McGarrett in Coronado, and served with his father in Vietnam. Described as ‘strong, stubborn and a man you want in your corner when things go south,’ the character holds some of the answers to the mysteries surrounding the respective murders of McGarrett’s mother and father.

Deadline reports Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson has just signed a deal to return to the veteran CBS drama only two weeks before it is scheduled to begin production on its upcoming seventh season. With Gibson and Shemar Moore set to come back and Paget Brewster and A.J. Cook rejoining them, Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler and Kristen Vangsness, Criminal Minds will return in the fall with its post-Mandy Patinkin cast intact.

Meanwhile TV Guide reports Beau Bridges will appear on an upcoming episode of White Collar. Bridges, 69, will play Agent Kramer, a well-decorated federal officer and art expert who instructed Peter (Tim DeKay) when he trained at Quantico. Kramer has been Peter’s mentor ever since, and his paternal nature offsets his intimidating presence.

  1. Further spoiler: in the third ep of the story arc we learn that the Navy Seal Commander is actually dead and that Adam Boland has taken his form…

  2. So glad A.J. Cook is back on Criminal Minds, getting rid of her in the first place was ridiculous. And is Paget Brewster back permanently? Cos they would be awesome. I only started watching Criminal Minds post-Patinkin, but it’s better when he left. The current cast is great. Keep them all.

And yay Terry O’Quinn on Hawaii Five-O. But geez you’d think Daniel Dae Kim and Terry O’Quinn would both want a change of scenery.

  3. This should be interesting. Definitely will be looking out for scenes with ‘Jin’ and ‘Locke’ together again!

Although I was looking forward to seeing the show that was supposedly being planned with Michael Emerson (Ben from Lost) and Terry O’Quinn. Bummer it looks like that may not be happening now anytime soon.
