UK supernatural drama Marchlands begins on ABC1 next week.

It tells the story of three different families living in the same house at three different time periods, in 1968, 1987 and 2010.

The families are linked by the ghost of a little girl, Alice, who drowned in a tragic accident in 1967 in local lake ‘Blackwater Tarn’. The episodes are multi stranded and a number of characters appear in more than one time frame.

Marchlands is the gripping story that follows three separate families who live in the same house called Marchlands at three different time periods 1968, 1987 and 2010.

The three strands interconnect the families are linked by the ghost of a little girl, Alice, who drowned in a tragic accident in 1967, in local lake ‘Blackwater Tarn’. The episodes are multi stranded and a number of characters appear in more than one time frame.

Little Alice Bowen died in 1967. Her mother is devastated, as is the rest of her family.

Almost 20 years later Alice begins haunting another little girl who now lives in her room.

And in the present day? The house still feels like it’s being haunted.

It begins 8:25pm Saturday July 23 on ABC1.

  1. Sounds fascinating but can somebody please explain what this means “The episodes are multi stranded” or does it only actually mean multiple plot?
