Airdate: Off The Map

Meet seven doctors running away from their lives but practicing medicine in paradise.

New US medical drama Off The Map begins on Seven later this month.

The series, set in a remote South American village, follows seven doctors running away from their lives but practicing medicine in paradise. It was created by Grey’s Anatomy writer Jenna Bans, with Shonda Rhimes as one of the executive producers.

The cast includes New Zealand-born actor Martin Henderson.

But the series was cancelled by ABC in May.

“Saved By The Great White Hope”
An idealistic young Dr and two colleagues arrive in the city of stars, a tiny town in the South American jungle which has one understaffed, under-stocked medical clinic. While all of these young doctors are  running away from personal demons, they aren’t the only ones with emotional baggage.

It begins 10:40pm Thursday, July 21st on Seven.

  1. Why even bother?

I mean yes Seven still want to get the most out of the dead programs it has bought (and there seems like quite a few this year) but why not just put it on 7TWO instead of the endless UK sitcoms from 40 years ago? Having it at 10:40pm is doing no one any favors.

  2. Putting it in the Private Practice timeslot is a good idea as it needs filling till next year but the timeslot sucks (with Private Practice viewers going down ever since Seven bumped it to 10:30pm and placed Desperate Housewives in at 9:30pm). I was hoping that Seven would have put it on 7TWO instead of the primary channel as it has already been axed but atleast its in a late night timeslot and not primetime.
