Charlie Sheen announces Anger Management sitcom

Winning? Charlie Sheen has a new sitcom, loosely based on the 2003 Jack Nicholson-Adam Sandler movie, Anger Management.

Former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen will return to series television in Anger Management, a new sitcom loosely based on the 2003 Jack Nicholson-Adam Sandler movie.

Sheen will play the Nicholson role in the comedy about a mild-mannered man ordered to attend group anger management sessions led by a therapist who could probably use some anger management himself.

The project is to be produced by Lionsgate Television, with Sheen retaining an ownership stake in the series.

“I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept,” Sheen said wryly.

“It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.”

Roth and Sheen have worked together on five features, including Major League, Young Guns and Three Musketeers.

“We always look for series ideas that are noisy, accessible and relevant,” said Lionsgate’s Kevin Beggs. “Charlie Sheen in Anger Management takes those criteria to a whole new level and we are thrilled to be in business with him, Evolution, Debmar-Mercury and Revolution Studios on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

On his Twitter account, Sheen boasted: “RT!! Anger Management EPIC!! WINNING!!”

So far no network or writer is yet announced.

  1. There should be a show for him called I axed a game show of close to thirty years in Australia Management for the total tool of a man.

I grew up as a kid watching Sale of the Century in the 1980s/90s and occasionally tuned into the odd Temptation episode when they brought that back in 2005 on Nine.Mr Sheens 2.5 men sent the quiz show featuring Ed Phillips and Livinia Nixon to the scrapheap never to be seen again. For that Charlie I and the rest of Australia are so disgusted at you!!!!

  2. This guy needs to get back into movies,it’s where he is most suited.Fair chance this show may not even see the light of day.Get some help in the mean time Charlie

  3. No one cares … just like Tom Cruise, everyone sees him as a freak and no-one is interested in watching anything he does …
The Networks/ Producers/ whoever agrees with his stupid ideas needs to stop facilitating his addictions, and make him fully accountable!

  4. this won’t make it onto the screens. the last 10 years has been filled with terrible sitcoms. the 80’s and 90’s were the decades for sitcoms

  5. What happened to the guy? I was watching him in Spin City (waiting for Hellcats) and he was actually normal. Having Heather Locklear in the scenes helped also 😆

I’m guessing this will go to cable, Showtime or HBO.
