A producer on Glee is suing co-creator Ian Brennan after a supposed deal between them soured.
Michael Novick is credited as one of many Producers on the FOX series, which was originally developed as a screenplay by his friend Ian Brennan, now a co-creator with Ryan Murphy.
Novick and Brennan had agreed to work as a team to sell the project but Ryan Murphy liked the idea of it as a television series when Novick floated the idea to him at a local gym.
According to the suit, Murphy then pitched the show to FOX, but the negotiations hit a snag. Novick wanted to drive a hard bargain, but Brennan convinced him to back off and accept a lower fee and credit.
Novick claims Brennan promised him 15% of any back-end compensation Brennan would receive.
Novick is now suing for unspecified damages.
