Marngrook Footy Show celebrates NAIDOC week this Thursday, highlighting the culture, history and achievements of indigenous Australian footballers.
Founded to recognise the distinct cultural histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples, the national theme for NAIDOC week (from 3 – 10 July) in 2011 is about taking responsibility about the future and controlling the change needed to plan and make it happen.
This Thursday’s guests are:
Guest panellist – Hawthorn legend Peter Hudson
Special guests – Collingwood’s Leon Davis and former Saint Nathan Burke
And live entertainment from young indigenous singer/ songwriter Illana Atkinson and her grandfather – gum leaf player Herb Patten (former Australia’s Got Talent 2007 finalist)
It airs 7.30pm Thursday on ABC2.
The show recently produced another behind-the-scenes video featuring Mark Seymour.

I love the show & especially Marngrook new concepts for 2012..with these fresh & innovative ideas they’ll beat the footy show hands down!! Well done. I checked them out on orble and all I can say is congratulation team for working so hard to come up with great ideas!!No wonder your show is taking off. The Aboriginal community should be so proud of a job well done & their plans to lift the roof off any other footy show with new concepts. Go for it..All of Australia will be watching soon!!!!
