  1. I’m really looking forward to series 2 of The Big C! I have to agree with Secret Squirrel, I don’t think it’s a good fit for Channel Nine, and lets face it, the show would be treated with absolute disrespect anyway.
I’d much rather watch the entire series without fear of it being moved without notice or cancelled alltogether. Fingers crossed on Gem that might actually happen.

  2. Emmy number 4 for Laura imminent! She is so watchable, and the show a very different take on the ‘disease of the week’ idea. Oliver Platt is also great in this series.

  3. Yay it’s back love the big C can’t wait hope gem don’t move it around too much a consistent slot will make me very happy I record everything no ads that way 😀

  4. I have an old tv and no set top box but over the past couple of days I have been able to watch both gem and one hd through foxtel. This has previously been blocked. Has anyone else noticed this?

  5. I don’t mind the timeslot because it basically forces you to record it and then you get the luxury of watching it back with no ads.

Just to clairfy this will be Weeds S8? The supposed final series?

  6. @Jake – I think The Big C is great but I don’t think it’s a good fit for channel Nine – far too intellectual and not enough guffaws. However, 10:30 is too late, this show deserves to be on earlier and Monday is prob not the best night. Thu at 9:30 would be perfect (and they could have Embarrassing Bodies – The Cancer Special afterwards 🙂 ).

These type of programs don’t really fit in with Nine’s traditional audience and the network doesn’t seem to know what to do with them and never treat them well. They should either not take them in the first place or on-sell them to SBS or the ABC.

  7. I’m so excited for both these shows, but their time slots are disgusting! Just like Go they refuse to put anything new on during primetime. What’s the point of having these channels if they are not going to provide real alternative programming?

  8. The Big C is such a brilliant show and I am totally disappointed in Channel 9 for not giving it a go in prime time on the main channel.!! I can see it doing well in a 9.30pm timeslot. Amazing that with all the garbage that is aired they haven’t got a half hour in their schedule to spare this show???!!! This had to be the most under rated show of all time….. go figure…..

  9. What a silly timeslot. Dont understand why they don’t put it on at 9:30 or even 8:30. Much better than endless repeats of embarrassing bodies, wife swap and movies everyone has seen ten times.
