SBS highlights: August / September

Swift & Shift Couriers, more William Shatner’s Weird or What?, Gourmet Farmer and documentaries on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 are all coming to SBS.

In September SBS will mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy with 3 documentaries including the history of the dark side of America’s “war on terror” in Top Secret America.

The delayed second season of Swift & Shift Couriers by Paul Fenech will air from mid-August.

There are second seasons of William Shatner’s Weird or What? and Gourmet Farmer.

Already screening are Seduction in the City: The Birth of Shopping, French Food Safari, Dateline, Insight, World News Australia, Living Black, The World Game, and Cycling Central.

Danish drama The Protectors begins tonight while Sex: An Unnatural History starts tomorrow and Behind the Front Door on Saturday. A Paris Film Season begins this Saturday with 2 Days in Paris.

Tropic of Capricorn

Top Secret America
On the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks this documentary investigates the dramatic changes that have reshaped America, and examines the history of the dark side of America’s “war on terror.”

The Hotel
The Hotel is an intriguing look at life above and below stairs in the Damson Dene, a three-star hotel in a five-star setting – the Lake District, UK.

Swift & Shift Couriers Series Two
In the new ten-part series, Swift & Shift Couriers returns to Hashfield Depot with manager Keith Warne facing more cutbacks due to the global financial meltdown. He has lost people in nearly every department. Melissa has been put back in the phone room, Murray is back as HR Manager and Abdul’s cousin, Habib, comes on as the additional driver.

Gourmet Farmer Series Two
In the returning ten – part series of Gourmet Farmer, Australia’s toughest food critic, Matthew Evans  continues his quest in Tasmania to farm and experiment with artisanal produce. Matthew is joined in this new series by his partner Sadie and his baby son Hedley.
