2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (Aus): nominees

You have to hand it to Nickelodeon for clever publicity moves.

As if the Kids’ Choice Awards didn’t already attract enough publicity, now it has added a new category, “Slime Minister,” which asks kids to vote on sliming either Julia Gillard or Tony Abbott -and the ‘winner’ as voted by the kids of Oz will be invited to cop the green goo live on stage.

With KCA sliming now being considered an act of endearment, it’s a win / win for both the event and the poor victim.

Additional new categories including the Hall of Slime (consisting of previous KCA slimed celebs), a Super Fresh award for young breakthrough stars and an Awesome Oldie award to be fought out between Karl Stefanovic, David Koch, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Matt Preston. Very cool.

  1. Lol. I am whatching KCA now and “Julia” just got voted Slime-minister. That was totaly Not Gillard! XD

    >.> (But what if it was!?!?!?!?!) <.<

    ~~~Ninja_guy signing out!~~~
  2. @Mia: When I was a kid, I adored equally ridiculous things. Bad taste never changes through the generations, nor do some people grow out of it. eg. There are Nickleback fans who are old enough to drive. Let kids enjoy their silly, saccharine entertainment if it makes them smile. They need it.
