Airdate: Dancing King: Man in the Mirror

I’m really not too sure about this one….

ABC2 will air Dancing King, a six part sries about British theatre producer staging a Michael Jackson tribute show, “Man in the Mirror.”

Not to be confused with the controversial Jackson event planned for Cardiff, this show opened in a Monte Carlo resort. King had success with Spirit of the Dance, but is known for his interest in projects that will sell rather than an affinity for the material.

Nevertheless, this sounds like a surprising Reality inclusion for ABC2. Car crash TV perhaps?

One of Britain’s most successful producers, the fearless and determined David King, wants to bring Michael Jackson back to the stage, with a Man in the Mirror tribute show.

The huge production could give a selected few talented artists the break of a lifetime.

But when auditions kick off in London, King discovers more wackos than Jackos.

It will be his biggest musical to hit the global stage and the search for the best Michael Jackson will be a tough feat particularly as there are just four weeks to cast and polish the show before it opens in Monte Carlo.

British and American hopefuls throw themselves into the mix, trying to impress him.

7:30pm Sunday September 4 on ABC2.
