Dani eliminated from MasterChef

Publicist Dani Venn has been eliminated from MasterChef Australia after a tense four-way cook-off.

Dani Venn has been eliminated from MasterChef Australia.

She was cut from the show in a four-way elimination challenge that required contestants to cook three courses that represented their life.

Despite being an open pantry challenge, it tested them all.

The 25 year old publicist from Victoria told the judges she didn’t get to finish her dishes in the time frame. Her chicken and corn soup, braised pork belly, ice-cream and fritters were strong in concept but let her down in flavour.

Now remaining in the contest are Alana Lowes, Kate Bracks, and Michael Weldon with the penultimate elimination to take place on Thursday night.

  1. It is sad that the judging was controversial……one minute they said you don’t served uncooked meal and that would be meant elimination and on the other they reverse their decision to suit who they want to be in the final.

Sad that Billy was sent home but I enjoy Kate’s cooking, but including him would add a wonderful blend of cuisine in the contest. Dani’s cooking Cannot be compared to both Billy and Kate….

The show is a yawn after Billy is out…too painful to watch Dani’s challenge…she won as we predicted…. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  2. Now I don’t watch masterchef, and most people know that I deplore it and cannot understand how people can watch it so much, but I will ask this question.

About a month ago, there were five contestants, then that guy got eliminated because he “cheated” or whatever it was, thus making four. How is it a month later, we are Still only down to the final three? Is the show like Paradise Hotel? After someone is eliminated, they replace that person with 2…?

  3. with so much pork belly, i’m amazed pork farmers of australia aren’t a major sponsor this year! Agee that the right 3 people are heading into the finals. Michael to win.

I think it’s unfortunate people get so fired up about these contestants, and call them names etc. Give them a break people.

  4. @alfagirl – really -LMAO!!! Must have been an episode I missed. Swear to God that the Australian Pork Producers lobby was a major sponsor of MC this season, as we have been bombarded with the stuff!!

  5. I’m glad it was her, Dani appeared very lucky to get this far. I’m still hoping for a Kate and Alana final.

@ Allie – I agree, it seems that since the contestants realised the judges loved pork it has become ubiquitous. Enough with the pork already!
