Former Glee cast member Chord Overstreet has his next post-show role, as a guest on the third season of The Middle.
Overstreet’s exit from Glee was full of conflicting reports. The last update said he was offered a deal to return for 10 episodes with the possibility of becoming a series regular, but declined.
On The Middle he will effectively switch from student to teacher, playing Ralph Wilkerson, a fourth-grade teacher whose innovative methods run counter to Frankie (Heaton) and Mike’s (Neil Flynn) “more relaxed” parenting.
In other casting news for The Middle, former Everybody Loves Raymond star Ray Romano will appear in the season premiere as Nicky Kohlbrenner, a guy from Frankie’s past who single-handedly ruined Frankie and Mike’s honeymoon.
A Raymond reunion….

He goes from being on Glee to being a guest star on a third-rate sitcom?
He should have taken the deal
What a step down for the poor fellow. He should’ve stuck with Glee for 1 more season.
Can’t wait for the return of this excellent show!
Had no idea, Cord was out of Glee completely. The producers really let him slip through their fingers, didn’t they.
Love The Middle, it is so underated and much better than Modern Family
(in my view)
