Four way elimination test looms on MasterChef

Dani, Michael, Alana and Kate will all face off in a MasterChef elimination challenge on Tuesday night.

Dani, Michael, Alana and Kate will all face off in a MasterChef elimination challenge on Tuesday night.

The shock result follows all four being stretched by a challenge involving chickern terrine by chef Maggie Beer.

The judges were unimpressed with all four dishes, ruling that they were undercooked and did not represent restaurant-quality.

In finals week the decision will ensure that the game is still wide-open, and perfectly primed for a bumper battle with the Grand Final of Australia’s Got Talent.

All four will cook with an open pantry tomorrow night.

  1. I think the judges keep on changing the rules. They said that the two worst dishes would be in the elimination. then they changed it to none of you cooked a restaurant quality dish. I love Dani but if she didnt put one of the elements on the plate, she should have been one of the ones to go.

  2. I cant believe one person didnt get theres cooked properly. If one of them had cooked it then they would be the only one through and sat back on the balcony watching the other 3 battle itt out.

But its sort of good a 4 way cook off. It makes the episode interesting.

  3. I can’t get over the fact that they all served raw food hence they are all, even Dani, who didn’t serve the bread, in elimination. Seems a bit contrived to me. Poor Maggie I bet she is highly embarrassed.

  4. Justin (a pre-planned decision by producers?)

How can the producers possibly pre-plan that everybody undercooks a dish? That would mean they would have deliberately changed Maggie Beer’s recipe.

You are obviously one of these people that thinks “everything is rigged”. No one would want such a disaster to occur with a Maggie Beer recipe, which cooked correctly would not be raw. I imagine they knew it could be possibility though, which added to the drama of the episode.

I think at the end, the judges should have explained more carefully that each contestant not only didn’t correctly back time the cooking of their dish, they didn’t leave enough leeway for mistakes or varying oven temperatures.

  5. I just thought that terrine looked like Chum after I’ve opened up the can and put it on a plate-and that was Maggies-have something that looks appealing at least!!!
I don’t think Michaels’ humility is fake , I agree Dani should have gone for not producing the whole plate instead of the four up for elimination, at least they got them all done.
