  1. @ Aurora….I am tired of being calm….and accepting the way the networks treat viewers…..and what have they replaced it with….repeats…give me strenght!
And not only have TEN lost me as a viewer….but their advertisers have lost my disposable income also….

  2. Calm down Maev, while I do understand your disappointment in yet another series being yanked mid-season, you should be thankful that Ten actually gave it this much time on air and in the same prime-time slot. But the icing was on the cake after the third episode ratings-wise and to get this far with well-below average viewership is not something that usually happens. Not everything that is good will work – that’s a fact. It’s just the way it is.

  3. Burn notice is definitly good enough for ten if they gave it a decent slot and
left it there for a while, but i’d rather see it on one than not at all.
Tuesday night at 8:30 as a lead in to an action movie would make sense
(so that won’t happen) or bring one week at a time up to 7:30 monday
and put burn notice with 24.

  4. Ten should think of something new.Repeating old shows that many have seen before is not the answer. It would be like ditching the 7pm Project and bringing back Roseanne or the Facts of Life.

  5. @Geoff: I’m not a fan of those series either, but I know there are a lot of people who do like them. They let shows like Criminal Intent, House and Lie to Me fudge along with figures of 500k, I’m sure a series like Blue Bloods would match at least that. It’s not like Ten has a lot of other content waiting in the wings

  6. @ MuchoTB,

The reason Channel 10 isn’t replacing The Defenders with those shows you quoted is because they rated abysmally too. If they don’t want to stick with The Defenders they should at least show the quality NCIS instead of the boring garbage like Blue Bloods, Burn Notice and the like.

  7. Oh great!…Well ryan will be happy….but I am not.!!!!!!!
There were only 7 episodes left for goodness sake…..
I have given up on ch.9 a long time ago…..and ch.10 almost lost me when they kicked Ron Wilson off the night news….but that is it now….I am gone ch.10.
It is the last time I will get into any series, on any channel…..just have to watch DVDs like most of my friends do….*sigh*
And if you read US blogs…you will find a lot of unhappy Defenders viewers also!

  8. Was a nice show but it didn’t work for Ten in that slot. Hopefully it’ll return in Summer or even on one of their digital-only channels to finish the series off.

  9. Oh-oh. Don’t tell Maev.

@Jezza – the thing to do would be play The Renovators at 9:00 and then the second half of TBYG at 10:00. Then all those TBYG fans will start watching it for sure…

  10. I meant on Ten, not One for Burn Notice. they might as well finish Season 4 on Ten, then continue onto Season 5 a couple of weeks later on One. it would be strange just having 2 eps for the whole year on Ten if they decided to play it on One.

  11. if shows like this don’t rate, then why don’t they use their slots after midnight? just bump it up to the same night after Letterman or something instead of taking it off all together? at least let it play out that way. as for the NCIS repeats, thats what networks do, when ever they take off a show thats the solution, repeats. thats all they can come up with in the last minute.

PS, dumb idea for networks to air axed shows after they’ve already been announced as axed. people aren’t gonna watch if they know that information ahead of time. and Defenders wouldn’t be suited on Eleven, better off burning the remaining eps at a later timeslot. as for Burn Notice, it needs to air on One but why not put it in Defenders old slot up against Covert Affairs? they may be on the same channel in the US but not here so give them both some competition and see how they do.

  12. Ten still has the final season of Medium, Numb3rs, 10 episodes of Blue Bloods, Burn Notice, and many other series they’ve pulled. Why not just play something fresh?

NCIS repeats are stale and will make viewers tired of the show in the long run. See: Two and a Half Men, Top Gear.

Not too fussed about The Defenders getting canned though – it has been rating abysmally for weeks

  13. They should show a repeat of The Renovators in its place, as it will give people a chance to sample it, and then join everyone else in hating it…..

  14. Not more NCIS re-runs!

    Nine has TBBT
    TEN has NCIS
Seven has… new shows, no wonder they are willing the ratings war!

I like The Defenders, pity it was canned in the US, sure hope Jerry O’Connell can find a show that lasts more than one season. In the last 5 years he’s had Carpoolers, Do Not Disturb, Eastwick and now The Defenders all gone in one season or less.
