An online jihadist at the SITE Intelligence Group website, which monitors and translates online activity of terror groups, has called for the killing of David Letterman because he mocked the death of al Qaeda leader Ilyas Kashmiri.
Kashmiri was killed in a US drone strike in June.
The militant called on Muslims in the US to “cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever.”
But David Letterman is not Jewish.
So far, neither CBS nor the production company for the Late Show, Worldwide Pants, has commented on the threat.
Other comics who have been targeted for their material include South Park‘s Trey Parker & Matt Stone, Russell Brand, Sacha Baron Cohen, Alexei Sayle, Kevin Smith, and Ricky Gervais.
