Marg Helgenberger quits CSI

Another CSI team member quits, this time original castmate Marg Helgenberger.

Marg Helgenberger who plays Catherine Willows in CSI will leave the crime series mid-way through the next season.

Helgenberger (pictured, left), who has been with the series since its inception in 2000, opted to return for Season 11 only after executive producer Carol Mendelsohn approached her last season and asked her to remain on so the writers could properly script her exit.

“The combination of that info and me having a hard time letting go of this show and this group of people, I said, ‘Yeah, I’m not done playing this character; I’m not done letting go of this group of people,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Ted Danson’s character, supervisor DB Russell (who replaced Laurence Fishburne), will affect Willows’ role within the team.

Meanwhile a sneak peek clip of Danson’s role has emerged online at EW.com.

  1. She announced this before the start of last season too…and I think somewhere else in the interview quoted she mentions being open to changing her mind…so I don’t think she’ll be going anywhere any time soon.

  2. I cant work out what is going on with Marg Helgenberger, no disrespect to David, but every report I read says somthing else, at one stage last series was meant to be her last, then she was doing a few more episode, then it was she will be in the bulk of the episodes but this is her last series, now this report saying she will be in half the series.

Its a shame episode 250 was last series, and 300 isnt going to be till the 2012/2013 season, otherwise a big exit episode on those anniversy episdoes would be nice.

TBH I fear for the show.

  3. Nice bit of fan created content. To start the Ted Danson scenes are from Bored to Death. You can even see Jason Schwartzman to the left. And the Opening bit was very strange.

  4. so will she be back like Jorja?
At it’s peak this so was very clever and interesting but the franchise is very old and tired, stop flogging the dead corpse.
