Returning: The Force. Bumped: Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol and The Force: Behind the Line will air on Sundays on Seven.

Seven screens two of its more popular factuals on Sundays beginning this weekend.

Highway Patrol moves from Wednesdays to 7:30pm Sunday and The Force: Behind the Line follows at 8pm.

Highway Patrol
A driver is caught doing 126kph in an 80 zone, and the Senior Constable soon discovers the car is also unregistered and has the wrong number plates. This adds up to a mountain of fines, but his biggest worry is getting the woman he’s with home before her boyfriend finds out. A driver behaving badly is pulled over and decides to keep drinking, even though he’s being breath tested! Two Senior Constables are on the tail of an unregistered bike. When the bike suddenly speeds off, the pursuit becomes dangerous, and they have no choice but to abandon it. They continue the hunt, tracking the address of the bike’s owner and the story gets complicated.

The Force: Behind the Line
Tonight on The Force, police target a man with a long history of drug dealing. With the dealers house barricaded, they call in the specialist Tactical Responsible Group. And the Water Police patrol a popular lake district. It’s a busy day but today it is a boating incident that happens onshore that has the Water Police occupied.

  1. @Tellie, 7 did air all the whole series of great Migrations, the 3 episodes you are thinking of are “best of” episodes and a “making of” special. Which are not part of the main series.

  2. Not surprised they are trying something new at 7.30, not sure Ch7 would be happy with the large switch-off that has been happening after Sunday NIght when going into Great Migrations, although Ch7 seems to be happy to drop it after only showing 4 of the 7 episodes that go with the show, can’t even stick to a 7wk schedule, what happens now with the other 3 eps?

  3. Thursday is also a possible night for X Factor as the programming from 7.30 is NZ factuals which aren’t likley to be a long term solution for that time slot. Then again, there is nothing to say they won’t change Sunday’s after two weeks either.

  4. @Guy: Good thinking, but I’m not sure that would be any more effective than Sunday/Monday. A lot of people said SYTYCD:Australia would get bigger figures if it moved to Wednesday and Thursday. Ten did that and the show fell into the 800k zone, before being axed entirely.

IMO X-Factor doesn’t have the same broad appeal as a show like Australia’s Got Talent due to it only being singers. At least AGT has more variety. That said I did like the show last year and hope it does well, but after 7 years of Australian Idol the public may be over it.

  5. I have been saying it from February. X Factor will not go on Sunday this year. Sure Ronan has come out on radio and said first X Factor Live show is September 17th but you know what i think he is wrong. Why would Seven put this show back on Sunday when it performed not so good there last year.

If Seven had any guts they would put it Tuesday/Wednesday but that would mean moving Rafters which imo shouldn’t move away from its timeslot so there is 3 options. Sunday/Monday which i think is the worst move possible. It will again have to put up with Jnr MC which hurt it last year but then again could face a failing Renovators. Monday/Tuesday which i think personally is the best idea or Wednesday/Thursday which could do really well and lift Seven out of that Thursday hole.

  6. Great to see Hwy Patrol in the schedule, if they played their cards a bit better this show could easily be a solid performer pulling in 1.2-1.5m, its very addictive viewing

  7. Interesting, could x-factor be going to Monday / Tuesday? X- favor live shows on a Sunday would push wild boys out to 9.30pm Sunday, which isn’t ideal for a local drama finding it’s feet!

  8. @Mucho TB

    Not a problem.

As scheduling is on a daily basis these days, they will just reshuffle again

You can’t expect a show to get a permanent slot for it’s full season run

What’s the world coming to ?
