The Tunnel on iView

From Sunday morning low-budget horror flick The Tunnel will be available as an iView exclusive.

From Sunday morning low-budget horror flick The Tunnel will be available as an iView exclusive.

Filmed almost entirely underneath Sydney’s CBD, this resembles a guerilla-style film, with its $135,000 budget funded by $1 shares to the public. Lots of handheld cameras.

The film takes about 40 mins to get going but then becomes pretty creepy.

If you like The Blair Witch Project, this might be one for you….

It will be on iView for one month.

  1. The budget for this feature film was $135,000 – that’s less than what channel 9 would have spent on the spots to launch Top Design, those really bad ones with the Brady Bunch theme tune.

I think we all need to support Australian films like this, no matter how they are distributed and no matter how you access the content.

A lot of free time and passion was given over to this project.

Congratulations to all the cast and crew and, in the interests of full disclosure, I bought a number of frames from the film…

  2. Twas a pretty ordinary movie but still much better than Panic At Rock Island.

Whatever happened to good old aussie horror schlock like the hilariously gross Body Melt featuring Harold from Neighbours?

  3. Takes 40mins to get going? That’ll be close to half the film! These days if it doesn’t grab you in five mins who can be bothered, sad way to watch films I know but it’s the truth.

  4. Have been hearing about this. Don’t know if I want to be all “yay!” or “omgnothanks” about it, though. 🙁

Well, I ‘spose if it gets too scary…
