Karl Stefanovic had plenty to say when he compered a book launch for Richard Wilkins this week.

Today‘s Karl Stefanovic is in the news once more for his unique brand of humour.
As the compere for Richard Wilkins’ new biography, Stefanovic had plenty to say.
The Herald Sun writes: “I know three things about Richard Wilkins – great bloke, big hair, massive c–k.
“That’s all I know.
“I know all the press are here, yada yada yada – but sometimes, as Tom Cruise in that film, you just have to say, ‘What the—‘.”
The Daily Telegraph goes as far as to headline its article with “Drunken MC Karl Stefanovic hammers Richard Wilkins during book launch.” It even has the audio recording.
Wilkins responded on the night by saying, “Karl, I knew it was a risk asking you to MC – especially when you said you were going for a big lunch. I thought, ‘Logies Part II, here we go!'”
Molly Meldrum will launch the Wilkins book Black Ties, Red Carpets and Green Rooms in Melbourne on Tuesday. A hard act to follow…

I was never ever a fan of Karl’s until the flood coverage – he just nailed it came across as a normal bloke and not some idiot trying to make a name for themselves or pretending to care (I haven’t watched Sunrise since the Brisbane floods). I know lots of normal blokes and it sounds like Karl’s speech was that of a real normal bloke razzing his mate! Leave the poor bloke alone!!
Karl should do the today show every day after a couple of drinks. It’d be must see tv. I still get a laugh after the post logies show on youtube.

Sorry not a public event, invite event only made up of mostly channel 9 employees and friends of Richards from other fields. The only people complaining about this is gossip columnists because they have nothing better to do. Also I might add not once did Karl slur his speech in that speech so he can’t have been too drunk.
And I will mention again Richard swore too in his speech but thats not being reported on. All I see it is the jokes they make about Richard on the Today Show but in an adult setting.

So this lunch he had with David Gyngell. Was this just a men’s boozy lunch. Im not sure if I had lunch with my top boss a boozy lunch would be the way to go. But I guess they are good mates.
I have a sense of humour but when you are MC ing an event for a mate im not sure id like to hear him standing up there going on about he easily he picked up women and how big his penis is especially when Richard’s fiancee is standing there and also some of his children.
Im starting to think Karl cannot hold his grog anymore or doesnt know when to stop.
Karl – that’s sad! Your good friend deserved more respect from you. Love your antics – but on this occasion you were OTT.
It’s great that everybody’s so quick to vent their outrage about the really important things. Your lives must be so devoid of happiness.

@Andrew_81 – It was a public event. The media was invited so that makes it a public event, end of story. This behaviour is not appropriate for someone who is the face of a commercial television network. Would Ray Martin or Jana Wendt or even David Koch ever behave in the manner that Karl does? – I doubt it. Nine should toss out the trash and hire some talent with class.
Karl is just awesome. I agree he would be great at a wedding.
Karl’s style does tends to divide, there are plenty who love him for his larrikin humour.

And TV Week better do something about Logies voting. When someone like KS is able to work the voting so he takes the Gold, then something is obviously very, very wrong.
So Nine sacks those jounos in Brisbane but Karl can behave like this in public and stay? The whole network needs an overhaul. Kerry Packer must be spinning in his grave. What was once a respected network is now just a circus overflowing with clowns!
