Four Corners: Sept 26

Parents speak out after South Australian authorities release a man alleged to have abused a child with an intellectual disability, because they could not give reliable evidence.

This week Four Corners hears from the parents of a child with an intellectual disability allegedly abused by a man in South Australia. But after prosecutors formed the view that the child could not give reliable evidence the accused was released.

Speaking openly on television for the first time, parents whose children tell stories of abuse discuss the limitations of the legal system.

They will allege that up to 30 children had been abused at a South Australian school in the 80s and 90s but the police and the school authorities did not tell them.

Monday 26th September at 8.30pm on ABC1.
