Local series of I Survived…

Survivors of the Boxing Day tsunami, the Black Saturday, Queensland floods, and Bali bombings will share personal stories on Bio.

The Bio. Channel has commissioned an Australian version of U.S factual series, I Survived….

To be produced by Graham McNeice Productions (Crime Investigation Australia, Australian Families of Crime, The Spirit of Australian Sport), the 8 part series will profile the every day Australians who have overcome unbelievable and traumatic circumstances and how it has changed their life.

It will include survivors of the Boxing Day tsunami, the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires, the recent Queensland floods, the London and Bali bombings, the Port Arthur Massacre and the 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht race.

Bio Channel Manager, Paul Myers, said: “I Survived…Stories of Australians is a marquee program for the Bio Channel in 2012, and we are confident it will resonate well with our viewers. The international success of the franchise is due to the openness, honesty and emotion of the interviewees and the candour and bravery we’ve witnessed from our Australian participants has been no different. It’s captivating TV.”

It will air in Bio in early 2012.
