Marngrook Footy Show: Grand Final edition

Dan Sultan, the Bull Sisters, Doc Neeson and Buzz Bidstrup are guests on the Marngrook Footy Show Grand Final edition.

Not to be outdone by its commercial counterparts, ABC2’s very own Marngrook Footy Show will also have a Grand Final edition on Thursday night.

Guests appearing include Dan Sultan, the Bull Sisters and Doc Neeson and Buzz Bidstrup from The Angels.

Marngrook Footy Show’s family-friendly, 90-minute Grand Final program, on Thursday night (September 29th at 7.30pm on ABC2) will feature a stellar line-up of football guests and musical acts to match the biggest day in the AFL calendar.

Saturday’s Grand Final between two of the AFL’s most proficient teams, Collingwood and Geelong, will give Marngrook hosts Grant Hansen and Gilbert McAdam, and the assigned panel, plenty to dissect.

Joining the discussion will be an array of prominent AFL coaches (including Greater Western Sydney Giants’ coach, Kevin Sheedy), past star players, and live crosses to players involved on the big day.

Marngrook’s spectacular 90-minute Grand Final show will also feature some great live music from some of the biggest acts in the Australian music industry; including Dan Sultan, the Bull Sisters and legendary Aussie rockers Doc Neeson and Buzz Bidstrup from The Angels.

Special football guests include former indigenous AFL stars:

Former Sydney Swans premiership player, Michael O’Loughlin. Michael is one of the most decorated Indigenous Australian players in AFL history. He’s a member of the Indigenous Team of the Century and current games record holder for the Sydney Swans with a total of 303 games.

Former Port Adelaide and Essendon champion Gavin Wanganeen. Gavin debuted for Essendon in 1991, immediately finding a niche as an attacking defender. His quality was recognised in 1993 when he won the Brownlow Medal for the best and fairest player in the league – the first Aboriginal Australian to do so.

Marngrook Footy Show’s Grant Hansen is excited to see two of the AFL’s most exciting teams contesting the Grand Final on Saturday.

“It’s been a great season of AFL football and a fantastic year for the Marngrook Footy Show. Moving to the ABC has brought some exciting opportunities and we’re planning further developments next year.

“Everyone on the show is looking forward to the Grand Final so there’s no better place to get all your team news, entertaining analysis from panellists Ronnie Burns, Alan Thorpe and Chris Johnson and the latest tips from Leila Gurruwiwi and Shelley Ware.”

7:30pm Thursday on ABC2.
