Music trivia show RocKwiz returns to SBS this week with none other than Suzi Quatro & The Living End’s singer, songwriter and guitarist Chris Cheney.

Brian Nankervis tells TV Tonight, “The Suzi Quatro / Chris Cheney show was the longest taping in our seven year, nine series history.

“Extra songs, jokes, chaos on the buzzers, anecdotes from five decades in the music business. There was a sense of expectation as soon as Chris Cheney came out from behind the velvet curtain first to perform a song from the Living End’s new album. You can imagine the talk amongst the packed crowd in the Gershwin Room … ‘If Chris Cheney is on first, the next guest must be pretty famous!’

“We wondered if word had got out that Ms Q was appearing on the show, but the screams of delight from the crowd and the look of amazement and joy on the face of contestant Cath who correctly picked her, would suggest that it was a well kept secret.

“Suzi was in great form … she sang a couple of classic hits, demonstrated a unique approach to the quiz, told some great stories and proved why she is the gal she is. Chris was the perfect partner for Suzi and showed class, charm and patience. A great way to kick off series nine.”

For fans of the show, there is also a national tour in December starting in Canberra.

  2. Wow, Chris was amazing! Someone give us more of him please. Suzi is great. She is a beacon, light house, rocker icon, and gorgeous!! Best Rockwiz in ages….gosh

  3. I know some folks out there, like to it to be kept a secret what the duet is, and also what songs each performer sings. Well Suzi did a classic and anew and the duet with Chris, was unexpected, thinking it would be a Elvis cover, but it was not. It was agreat night for sure, lots of fun, the crowd were on ahigh, lots of great comments, and well, for my first experience of being a t a live recording of Rockwiz, what better way for me, than to see my all time favourite singer, Suzi Quatro. Cannot wait to see the show, for sure!
