Which US shows for 2012 are going to which Aussie networks?

  1. Ringer (for Sarah Michelle Gellar), Person of Interest (for Benjamin Linus), Once Upon A Time, Secret Circle and Charlie’s Angels I’ll take a punt on. There was also a trailer I saw for a show I can’t remember the name of where a man is getting counseling after a car crash in which his family was involved, but in one reality his wife died, in the other his son died…looked really interesting.

  2. Oh yeah, I’ve got complete confidence that Nine will treat Alcatraz and Person of Interest with the respect they deserve, and not just shunt them to 11pm on week three…

  3. Speaking of The Playboy Club, checking wiki and apparently NBC might get an edited version but International (and future DVDs) might contain more nudity and sex. So in this case it might be better to wait for it on Nine?

  4. MuchoTB – this Strike Back is the second series of the UK version made by Sky – they’ve basically struck a co-production deal with Cinemax in the US.

  5. Looks like some interesting shows there, Pan Am looks really cool, i like retro type shows. However i will not be watching any of the shows on Nine because as we know they like screwing over their viewers, Camelot getting just one episode before being dumped was the last straw, i will be relying on alternative viewing methods…

  6. Thanks David. 🙂

I’ll admit Once Upon a Time interests me I just hope they don’t kill it on Monday. Also I’m curious about Alcatraz and maybe Person of Interest. I’m surprised they don’t list Terra Nova on Ten however. If it has a good timeslot I might give it a chance.

  7. I’m be surprised if Pan Am gets renewed for a second full series, but Charlie’s Angels will do well for Nine, since unlike the 2 stupid CA films, the characters are back to using guns. Nine will also get the new Dallas remake series for next year.
Nine seem like they’ll have the rights to Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, as it’s from Warner Bros TV, but not being a cable show, it’d be too sanitised.

  8. Wow… What a disappointment to Channel 10… Did they even try to get any of the big hyped shows? Or did they just put all their money in Terranova and Glee?
But hey, atleast they’re not doing what Channel 7 is clearly doing– picking as much as they can, and then just throwing them at the wall and seeing what sticks…

Also- where is Ringer and Chelsea Handler’s show going?
I’m thinking Ringer will be a Go! show- and Chelsea’s will end up on Nine’s line up.

  9. Nine are showing promos for Person of Interest & 2 Broke Girls both of which look good. The Finder could be interesting going by the Bones ep,or it could be a flop.

  10. I’d take Nine’s list with a rather large bag of salt – we’re still waiting for some shows that we were told last year were “coming soon”. Ten’s record isn’t that much better.

  11. edit: just read Against the Wall is a police procedural airing on Lifetime. Sounds like a 10:30 timeslot filler

Strike Back also appears to be a 6 part British miniseries that aired in 2010, although that Courier Mail article says they are making a 10-part American adaptation as a ‘spinoff’.

  12. I watched the pilots of Happy Endings and Alphas, both were mediocre IMO. Wouldn’t recommend either

Of that list Once Upon a Time, Alcatraz and Person of Interest sound like the most interesting to me, along with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s ‘Ringer’ (CW) and Awake (NBC).

I haven’t heard anything about Strike Back and Against the Wall before, anyone know which network they air on in the US?

  13. Even though Ch 9 has only 6 new shows confirmed for ’12, they still have quite a long list of shows – both aussie & overseas, such as “Sherlock s2” & the “The Joy of Sets” etc, that they still yet to get around to screen.

  14. Some of these shows look interesting– Person of Interest, Alcatraz, Terra Nova, Homeland, The River.

However I’m not getting too excited as, going by the contemptuous ways all the channels move shows around, it’s highly likely they’ll destroy their potential audiences. And if that happens these shows will either be whipped off the air or thrust into some hard-to-find graveland.

And that’s if the channels even bother showing their new possessions. It’s common practice to buy new shows, advertise that they have them, and then simply never air them.

    Thank goodness for DVD sets!

  15. Who picked up Hello Vodka, It’s me Chelsea?

Happy Endings is a good show, if you give it a chance. It’s kind of like a new generation of Friends with no laugh track.

  16. Ten looks to be the bridesmaid here.
Will check out Once Upon A Time, Homeland & Alcatraz (though i can see 9 moving it 6 ways to Sunday) GCB and Revenge could be goodgGuilty pleasures & i want The River to work because it’s so rare we get a show with horror elements (not supernatural, actual horror).

  17. Pan Am and Charlies Angels i would have thought would go to Ten.

And Whitney on 7? If they put 30 Rock at the worst times of the week, this is gonna tank hard and fast.

  18. Doesn’t look like a professional list, good Christian bitches had a name change to belles months ago and 9 has much more. Unforgettable, 2 broke girls and Prime Suspect for starters.
