Minor Spoilers: Contestants in Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice were out in show yesterday washing cars as part of their first team challenge.

It was a case of the girls at Crystal Car Wash in Bondi and the guys in Gladesville for four hours each.

Washes from the girls were $50 a pop, all in the name of charity and potentially gratuitous television. It was another $50 for a photo with a celeb and $500 for a smooch.

Media were looking on as Jesinta Campbell wore a bikini and Pauline Hanson was in singlet and Aussie Bums. Seriously.

Campbell’s best efforts to stop the paparazzi weren’t much chop.

Max Markson is believed to have asked a lot of pals to come down with their cars and cheques while Shane Crawford, Wendell Sailor and Warwick Capper got wet with hijinks (what about Didier Cohen?). The guys were stitching people up for $1000 a pop.

Insiders called the challenges “chaos….brilliant chaos.”

Unlike other Reality shows that film in secret, this one isn’t hiding under a bushel with nearly all of its celebs taking to Twitter to talk up the event. Will be interesting to watch how that impacts ratings, I suspect it will help rather than hinder…

  1. There was a segemnt on kerri ann today that I came across while flicking. Max Markson was a wearing a zoo tshirt as in the magaizne and was using his celeb power to get donations. New Idea gave the other team a huge donation to. But at least charities are getting somehting out of it.

  2. The ladies were washing cars at the car wash around the corner from where I live. I walked up and watched some of it and at 2pm yesterday, they weren’t getting many takers.
