In keeping with the Halloween theme, SciFi tonight airs the 2011 Scream Awards celebrating horror, Sci Fi and fantasy genres in film, television and comics.

Special guests include Matt Smith, Colin Farrell, Gary Oldman, Ann Hathaway, Robert Downey Jr, Pee-Wee Herman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Joe Mangianello, Daniel Radcliffe and the cast of Game of Thrones.

The big names heading for the big prizes for 2011 are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and X-Men: First Class each scored 14 nominations in a massive domination of voting.

The Harry Potter franchise finishes 2011 with a flourish with 14 nominations at the 2011 Scream Awards.

Not far behind, Captain America: The First Avenger with 11 nominations, Thor, with nine, the epic fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones, with seven, and the pinnacle of televised zombie entertainment, The Walking Dead, with six.

There are a host of tremendous ‘special’ awards, perfect for genre fans who expect something a little bit different from their award shows. Special Awards include the Comic-Con Icon Award, a Farewell Tribute, the Maverick Award, the Ultimate Villain Award and the Visionary Award. There’s even an award for Most Anticipated Movie!

The Scream Awards are famous for having cool awards like ‘Holy Sh!t Scene of the Year’, ‘Most Memorable Mutilation’, ‘Best Comic Book Movie’ and “Fight Scene of the Year’.
