2009 US sitcom The League, which centres on six people who love fantasy (US) football begins tonight on ONE.

The FX series is created by the husband-and-wife team of Jeff Schaffer (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) and Jackie Marcus Schaffer (Disturbia), and tackles marriage, male friendship, parenting, suburbia, and growing up or refusing to grow up.

The ensemble comedy includes elements of improv and has included NFL guest stars. So far it’s had three seasons in the US.

“The Draft.”
The annual fantasy football draft is about to take place except reigning league champion Pete has not been given permission by his wife to play.

11:30pm Tuesdays on ONE.

  1. I hate what ONE has become but i might give this ago, if it captures me in the first ep then i will give it another go a week later. Still smarting over the dumping of NBL to a 10.30 timeslot.

  2. why are One still airing encores of Can of Worms, its finished on Ten isn’t it?

    but 10:30 would have been better, or even earlier like on Thursdays at 8:30.

  3. Sounds quite suitable for ONE but seriously 11.30? There wasn’t a 8.30,9,9.30 slot available? Could have bought rights to Sports Nights (another sport themed sitcom) and aired both together in an earlier slot; paired up with An Idiot Abroad Season 2 – Would’ve made a good line up 🙁
