Bumped: Renovators finale. Gone: An Idiot Abroad: Bucket List

TEN has made some changes to its schedule for next week, which appears to be as a result of not having a new Glee episode.

TEN has made some changes to its schedule for next week, which appears to be as a result of not having a new Glee episode from the US (it’s out for a few weeks, actually).

The 2 hour Renovators finale, which was due to air on Monday night, will now air at 7:30pm Wednesday October 12th (and yes it’s still listed as The Renovators 2005).

On Monday night TEN will continue with Undercover Boss Australia and Law & Order: SVU, despite the fact they pulled disappointing numbers last night.

Plans to launch An Idiot Abroad: Bucket List are now put aside, with TEN opting to replay the first series, An Idiot Abroad, which was a great series but has already played on ONE. It will begin 9:30pm Wednesday October 12th.

Whether this bumps the Bucket List series into summer or 2012 isn’t clear.

  1. umm that second paranthesesed sentence should read: ‘(which come with a press release that includes, when a show goes hiatus, a sentence like “new [show] returns [date]”).’

  2. @Secret Squïrrel, you’d think so, but who knows when FOX actually makes these decisions (it’s perfectly usual for a FOX show to be off for up to two weeks for the baseball World Series, but four weeks is unusual) – it may literally only be in time for advanced guides (which come with a press release that includes, when a show goes hiatus, a sentence like “new returns “).

I wonder what the Candian network (Global) does? They’re in the same position. Indeed it’s a problem all the US-simulcasting Canadian networks face all the time.

  3. why not have One for first run content for certain shows and replay them on Ten later. play Bucket List on One and replay it on Ten once season 1 finishes. One have heaps of un-used slots they could use but are filled with Cops episodes. but their Eleven rule should apply with One, what plays on what ever channel stays!

  4. Don’t you love being told one thing one day and something completely different the next. Surely Ten must’ve known about the Glee break when the initially decided to show Bucket List?

I don’t think An Idiot is abroad anymore. I think he’s working for Ten.

  5. TEN are a trainwreck so it’s no surprise to me. They have no idea what they are doing and even with James coming Murdoch will still have the final say so nothing will change. Next year I can see all of TEN’s programming failing even Masterchef will drop by 20% I recon. Prove me wrong ten but you are DOA.

  6. Why are people so surprised about Ten and their decision-making?

Lachlan Murdoch has ruined the place since he took over. God I hope James Warburton knows better because all the appointments and the strategic direction at Ten is a complete mess.

When the boss is this bad all the management team follow suit. They sacked Grant Blackley to appratenly improve Ten’s fortunes. Well that has backfired completely and now the public are abadoning the place in droves.

  7. Amazing they dump the NBL at a 10.30pm slot when it will do pretty good numbers at least better numbers then undercover boss, and yet undercover boss gets the benefit of the doubt, man Network Ten has gone into the gutter fast. I mean the previous network was ordinary with the network’s finances but atleast they didnt stuff around with the programing as much. This Network sucks big time, its amazing that this network was ever one of my favorites now it most certainly is not.

  8. I really like An Idiot Abroad but seriously showing it again, even if it’s for the 1st time in ‘SD’ on TEN great move considering how much Ricky mentions it being in HD. I want to see the new series, maybe they could put that on ONE in HD for it’s first running now?

Also why don’t they bring Terra Nova forward to earlier in the week and fast track it sooner?

  9. The first series of An Idiot Abroad has already played twice on One. It was repeated on Saturday nights immediately after it’s first broadcast.

Knew it was too good to be true that the second series would be “fast-tracked”.

  10. Is Ten run by monkeys ?
Actually I shouldn’t say that as monkeys are smart and they’d do a better job.
Ten wonder why their ratings stink. It’s because people will download the 2nd season of An Idiot Abroad now that Ten are not going to show it.

  11. Oh dear. TEN’s promotion of Renovators since it started airing has been problematic (pre-promotion was ok).
The show spent a week in QLD helping out flood victims – should have been promo’d up the wazzoo.
Not having the auctions/results as a live show – What The?????.
And bumping the finale for two weeks. Sheesh!

You’ve got the best “host” on Australian TV – warm, natural and pretty to look at…
You’ve got three interesting, appealing judges.
You’ve got an good mix of personalities in the cast, plenty of aren’t-we-all-so-supportive-of-each-other-ness and just the right amount of personality clash…
All these good elements and yet small misfires have wreaked havoc on ratings potential.

  12. it kinda feels like someone at ten is screwing them into the ground… this year ten has gone from the free to air channel i probably used to watch the most, to not having one show im particularly interested in. was really psyched to see an idiot abroad: bucket list, but we’re gonna have to wait for ages again.

  13. This will be the third time that Idiot Abroad has been shown. As ONE repeated it on a Saturday night.

Wednesday maybe a better day for Renovators as Monday is pretty busy with other programs.

  14. Argh! I was looking forward to The Bucket List.

At least Ten have been semi-decent about fast-tracking this year with Glee, Supernatural and soon Ringer amongst other shows which are being screened somewhat shortly after their US debuts.
