Charlie Sheen sitcom lands a US broadcaster

Charlie Sheen's new sitcom Anger Management now has a US broadcaster, with FX.

Charlie Sheen’s new sitcom Anger Management now has a US broadcaster, with FX.

The cable network already airs repeats of Two and a Half Men.

The show, based loosely on the 2003 movie, has been picked up for at least 10 episodes, starting mid 2012.

Bruce Helford, who was behind The Drew Carey Show, has the unenviable task of being showrunner, while former Disney executive and Sheen friend, Joe Roth, will be among the producers.

FX President John Landgraf said in a statement, “We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie’s acting talents — and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play.”

Hope they have a good team of lawyers….

FX will launch an Australian Pay TV channel in 2012 and has promised same day and date broadcasting as the US.

  1. That reminds me – has Nine given up on showing any more roasts? I can get them elsewhere but I am happy to watch them in the late evening if Nine want to trot them out.

  2. Wait.wasn’t this the same man Nine was going to replace with a news/chat show with Karl and Leila from the today show when Sheen got the axe from 2.5 men.

  3. @Craig: this will depend on which studio distributes the show. Nine has the rights to the original movie, which was made by Sony’s Columbia Pictures.
