Good news at last to hear that the ARIA Awards have a confirmed broadcast on GO!

The 25th ARIA Awards will be held on November 27 at Allphones Arena in Sydney and will screen on GO! from 7:30pm.

Both The Wiggles and Kylie Minogue will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, set to be honoured in person.

  3. This country’s music industry has seen better days, the problem is staying power. The current crop of artists do not have staying power at all. It doesnt help that Video HIts is not on air any more. The ARIA’s need to get back to basics interms of awards and recognising the artists/musicians which have the runs on the board. Radio does also play a part but just look at the ratings.

  4. @Leo…..Kylie is hardly an Australian artist, co written and produced by Britain, Jake Shears, Calvin Harris etc. Which popular charting artisits are Aria snubbing exactly?
    The problem in this country lies with the Government legislation regarding OZ airplay quotas…commerciakl radio needs to be brought to task. Without JJJ this country wouldn’t have a music industry. Get your head out of the sand.

  5. The Arias are notorious for snubbing “popular” charting artists – this years nominations are a joke.
    Kylie is a prime example – she’s sold over 70 million records worldwide, sell out tours & our biggest export ever – still the Arias continue to snub her.
    It’s about time she got this award, she’s amazing & an inspiration to millions of people all over the world!

  8. Don’t confuse the Aria awards with the Aria Hall of Fame.

    The Aria Hall of Fame is about longevity and legacy and not about those who currently win Arias by the bucket full and then dissapear never to be seen again !

  9. The ARIAs are about as respected as the Logies. It’s classless and trashy. We just can’t do classy, stylish awards shows. And I know Kylie has had massive success on the charts, but she has not really had any major ARIAs success, mainly cos she can’t sing. She’s the biggest name in Aussie music, you’d think she’d clean up every year.

  12. Good to see the hall of fame finally induct someone that people under 50 (ie. the whole audience) have heard of. It seems that the ARIAs have finally got the message that they need to commercial-up if the awards show is going to survive. But it looks like it is too late, it’s been reduced to a sponsor-run digital non-ratings fodder.

  13. No issue with Kylie or the Wiggles getting a nod but don’t forget the trailblazers on the home front !
    The Warumpi Band should be inducted, they were the first to use indigenous language in a charting single and album. They wrote one of this nations favourite alternate anthems, My Island Home. They have championed the cause of their community through songs like Black fella White Fella.
    Aria needs a kicking for continueing to ignore this iconic band who were around long before Yothu Yindi. Check out there vids on youtube, a piece of our culture that has been lost in the rush.

  19. Congrats to Kylie Minogue & The Wiggles, they both deserve to be in the ARIA Hall of Fame. ..and thank you Ch9 for picking up the ARIA Awards for us normal people!
