Returning: Skins

Here comes the third generation of characters for Skins, later this month on SBS ONE.

You’ve been waiting for this and finally a new season of Skins will air on SBS ONE later this month.

Season 5 of the UK teen drama introduces the third generation of characters and begins with Franky, who attempts to fit in at Roundview College, after moving to Bristol from Oxford with her adoptive gay dads.

It aired in the UK in January.

Franky – Term has started at Roundview College already and new transfer Franky Fitzgerald is causing a stir. Franky has just moved to Bristol from Oxford and she’s determined not to be a loner any more. Think again; her alternative boyish style immediately singles her out, and quickly draws the ire of queen bee Mini, especially after a violent hockey game. Stars Dakota Blue Richards, Freya Mavor and Laya Lewis.

  1. Still liked the series, always hard to be as good as the previous 4 with this one toned down quite a bit…

…but it was SBS’s ruining of Rich’s episode that had me annoyed.

During the bar scene they didn’t play “Killing in the Name of”.

Just played some generic lyric less music. Made the scene pointless, and it was rated MA and aired at night. Made no sense. >_<

  2. and I’m very happy it’s finally here! Now I can stop droning on about it! So the new series of Shameless will be appearing soon with any luck…….

  3. I have to say it was quite a mixed reaction from fans! I liked the characters of Matty and Nick Levan and thought Rich and Alo were a good duo…the girls weren’t as strong as in previous seasons but it’s still a bloody enternaining series IMO

  4. There were a few good episodes in season 5 but overall it was pretty terrible. The characters just felt weak and annoying. Made me miss the standout characters of the second generation like Cook and Effy.

  5. Skins series 5 was pretty good…IMO nowhere near as good as series 1 and 2 with Tony, Sid, Cassie, Michelle and the gang…but probably better than series 3 and 4
