Spoiler: Beauty & the Geek Australia romance

Spoiler: The Sunday Telegraph reports that two of the contestants on Beauty & the Geek Australia have fallen for each other.

Spoiler: The Sunday Telegraph reports that two of the contestants on Beauty & the Geek Australia have fallen for each other -but not the way the show had intended.

‘Male beauty’ Troy Thompson and brunette beauty Mackenzie Gogo Smits have apparently taken to Facebook to announce their engagement.

Fast work, but congrats to both.

But it’s bad news for geeks Jimmy and Helen, paired up with Mackenzie and Troy respectively.

Mackenzie had previously said, “I always fall for the wrong guys so I would like a geek to teach me a few things, mainly being that looks aren’t the most important thing.”

  1. Troy definitely seems to have an advantage in a lot of the “beauty” challenges. The animals and bugs clearly weren’t a problem for him. And he seemed better with the paint ball gun as well.

Equally, to the extent that the “geek” challenges involve knowledge of supposedly “feminine” aspects, for example identifying Pippa Middleton’s behind, then Helen seems to have an advantage.

It was a nifty idea at first, but the challenges seem to be in favour of the Helen and Troy partnership.

And as a complete aside, I loathe the Benda-goose character. Such a shame to see his team win this week and a “genuine” geek go home.

  2. @ Jerome –

Agreed – there is a clear difference between Troy and the female beauties, and as the challenges are geared more toward the female beauties it gives him an unfair advantage. That challenge where they had to dip their head into a box full of insects is an obvious example.

  3. I think the male beauty isn’t working out the way it was supposed to. They should have cast someone that was much more metrosexual, dumb and bitchy that really fits in as one of the beauties.
