Warwick Capper eliminated from Celebrity Apprentice

"I can't believe I'm the scapegoat. What a joke," says former AFL footballer Warwick Capper.

Former AFL footballer Warwick Capper was the first to be eliminated from Celebrity Apprentice.

The ’80s icon’ was cut from a three-way battle between team leader Max Markson and former NRL star Wendell Sailor.

Team Unity lost the first challenge on Monday night, a charity car wash after an underwear label donated $50,000 to the female team.

But Deborah Thomas revealed that Sailor had individually raised $250 and Capper just $20.

Capper blamed the team’s loss on Markson’s poor management and tried to blame his performance on a injured finger.

But boss Mark Bouris didn’t buy it and chose him to be the first celebrity to be cut from the show.

Capper marked his former team for failure.

“I can’t believe I’m the scapegoat. What a joke,” he said.

“I hope they all go out next week. I hope the girls win. Can’t wait. They’re better looking. They don’t backstab everyone. Long live the girls. I’m a girl man. Yeah.

“I’m still hugely popular in Australia. That’s the main thing.”

The Nine series premiered to strong numbers on Monday night with a healthy dose of media coverage and chatter. Another challenge takes place on Wednesday with another elimination marked for Thursday.

  1. So sad. Oh well… no reason for me to watch now. I was mainly going to watch this for Capper the legend, but now he’s gone will be able to continue to watch 7pm project and X Factor.

He was so funny on Celebrity Big Brother, but it’s good to see him a part of Joy of Sets at least.

  2. It wasn’t just that Warwick didn’t bring in any sales, he sat on his ass and didn’t really help wash the cars and keep things moving. He has had so much botox and dermal fillers injected into that face of his too.

  3. I fast fowarded through most of the board room stuff. But I htnks it was the right decision. Warick Capper may provide some laughs but he isnt there for that. Th efact is he didnt raise a sale.

I laughed when Mark Bouris said at the end its tough to fire a legend. He isnt a legend. Good to see him go.

  4. Capper’s firing defines management’s stakeholder theory and channel nine’s strategy to telecast elemination episodes, i.e. profit maximization (or advertising money). Similarly, Max was spared the firing because of his potential to bring sponsorship money to the show. It had nothing to do with quality leadership and management or even teamwork.

  5. Great show, but 9 always know how to ruin it….did we really need a 43 minutes episode of a firing that should have been well and truly done within 10 minutes? every 2nd ep for me thanks. Im sure the first 5 minutes on tommoros episode will recap the firing. Loving Mumma P!!!! Wendell the token channel 9 Rugby League tool, you are a Moron!

  6. I watched mainly due to lack of competition (and not feeling in new mode)
Have to agree with David & John Smith.
too many recaps, ad breaks etc…

    I won’t be watching again.
No doubt Nine will show “highlights” (all 3 minutes of then) during other shows.

  7. They’re idiots. Warwick is a d***, But for a show like this, especially when it’s aired every night, they need him on there to annoy and p*ss off the others – otherwise we’re going to be left with nice guys like Wendall Sailor, who probably won’t add any conflict to the show.

  8. Deborah Smith? I thought her name was Deborah Thomas… anyway

It’s good he’s gone, I like trash TV but not cringe TV which he is. Wasn’t he also a male escort or was that a joke a few years back?

  9. Looks like the Elimination episodes will be just one long drawn out boardroom scene (and some recaps). Can afford to skip every 2nd ep and just watch the Challenges.

  10. I’m actually surprised – not that he got fired because he was terrible, but that Channel 9 would let him go – he’s been such a pivotal part of the publicity and he does draw a crowd!!! Guess they are hoping Pauline is enough…

  11. @Archer ,he got fired fired from that job ages ago , ive seen him in the streets of surfers Paradise , hes the biggest w*nker australias got.Knew he would go anyway.
