Grace Knight, former front woman of eighties Aussie band Eurogliders, recently joined with the cast of Neighbours for a guest role.
Knight was cast as the grieving widow of a mutual friend of ‘Karl Kennedy’ (Alan Fletcher) and shared vocals in a duet at the funeral service.
“I’ve played singers before however while I did sing with Alan, it was also a nice challenge to stretch myself with the acting side and I love trying new things,” said Knight.
Fletcher, who performs with his own band Ubersavvy, said, “Singing at a funeral together isn’t quite how imagined it would be, however it was huge honour to sing alongside Grace.”
Eurogliders were at the peak of their career in the mid-80s with hits like “Heaven (Must Be There)”, the same era as Neighbours was launching and both are still chugging along. Knight has since forged a career as a jazz singer, inspired by her success singing on the soundtrack of the ABC miniseries, Come in Spinner.
She will appear on air next year.
