India is set to remake 24 and Slumdog Millionaire‘s Anil Kapoor, who appeared in the previous season, will adopt the ‘Jack Bauer role.’
Kapoor’s production company has bought the rights for the series from 20th Century Fox TV, to be performed in Hindi and dubbed into several regional languages.
“I am really happy that the makers of the show have put their faith in me for its Indian version. When I was shooting for it in the US, I kept wishing that I could take something like this to my Indian audience. Now that wish is close to getting fulfilled,” he said.
“It’s a huge honour, but I am anxious as Jack is an iconic character like Jack Sparrow or Batman. He is loved all over the world. It’s a great responsibility for me as an entrepreneur and as actor. I will try my best and hope I can do even 50 per cent of what they have done. If I achieve a little of what Keifer has, I will be happy.”

It will be interesting to see who the villains will be. While muslim terrorists seem to be the obvious choice, whether they are home grown or from Pakistan is the question. Communist insurgents are also a candidate.
Would be interested to see how this turns out. Obviously Kapoor enjoyed his time in Season 8 an awful lot!
This is kinda funny because Anil Kapoor played a character that got killed off in season 8, and now he’s the main character of the Indian remake.
I miss 24, fantastic series. Homeland is great too, Clare Danes and Damian Lewis are extremely compelling in the lead roles
