SBS Managing Director Michael Ebeid told independent producers at the SPAA Conference that despite funding challenges, the broadcaster was “open for business.”
As previously noted, SBS is making some significant changes to its Schedule from January next year.
“By moving our 9:30 News bulletin back to 10:30, it will not only allow us to show more great programs throughout the evening, but will also achieve better audience flow and retention,” he said.
“We’re investing more in our News & Caff, refreshing our World News Australia set, and running news updates throughout the night to keep our audiences up to date.
“We’re also moving Insight on Tuesday nights from 7:30pm to 8:30pm to be followed by Dateline at 9:30. These changes are all about freeing up two important slots on Sunday and Tues nights to attract larger audiences for your content – & we think Insight & Dateline will do better in those new slots.”

The news about the News & Caff schedule changes were announced ages ago
And reported previously here. Wasn’t revealed Insight was moving, hence the headline.
Thank goodness Insight has replies during the week. 8:30 on Tuesdays is a bit of a log jam at times.
