Luck of the Jack Irish

You could almost be mistaken for thinking ‘Bob Trimbole’ was back before the cameras in another Underbelly series, but actor Roy Billing is actually busy filming ABC’s new Jack Irish telemovies.

When TV Tonight recently visited a shoot actor Guy Pearce was hard at work, bringing the title character to life.

The 2 telemovies are expected mid year on ABC1 and word is if they shape up well there are more novels on Irish, including a 5th unpublished novel, that could be ripe for another small-screen adaptation.

Jack Irish: Bad Debts life is hard enough for Jack (Guy Pearce) – his beloved football club has moved interstate, the odds of his latest plunge at the track seem too long and he’s still cooking for one. So a phone message from ex-client Danny McKillop (Simon Russell) doesn’t ring any bells. But then Danny turns up dead and Jack must take a walk back into a dark and dangerous past.
