More delays on Transporter as Chris Vance recovers from injury

Filming on US series Transporter, which was suspended due to an injury to Chris Vance, will now be delayed until the new year.

Filming on US series Transporter, which was suspended due to an injury to Chris Vance, will now be delayed until the new year.

Vance (Prison Break, All Saints) suffered an undisclosed injury during filming in Toronto two weeks ago.

Now Production Manager Anna Beben sent an internal e-mail to talent and crew stating, “It appears that Chris’ recovery is going to take a little longer than we had anticipated. Chris has not been cleared for work and will be reassessed in 3 weeks.”

But with Christmas looming it may be more economic to wait until after the festive season.

Reports indicate Vance currently walks with a limp, leaving him unable to perform action sequences in the 12 part series based on the Luc Besson film franchise.

The Cinemax series, which will air in Australia on Foxtel, has already undergone major creative changes when British director Steve Shill (Rome, Dexter) replaced the original Canadian showrunners Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie.

After initial scenes were shot in Europe, Shill made a cull of crew and creative in Toronto, in a bid to get the production back on track and avoid cost-overruns.
