Stephen Colbert, a little cuter and before the snark.
Oh Stephen Colbert, you were so cute and preppy way back when you were doing ads for First Tier Bank.

Oh Stephen Colbert, you were so cute and preppy way back when you were doing ads for First Tier Bank.
You could have stepped straight into a John Hughes flick with that look.
Thankfully for us he got a little snarky along the way, but here’s how he was paying rent years ago.

Looks like Bob Saget! And the big suit is very Talking Heads!
The series, Strangers with Candy, is better than the movie. The former, at least, is on iTunes Aus. “But I’m not sure I wanna put extra effort into something I want.”
@Elbogrease Mr Jellinneck was played by Paul Dinello. Colbert was Mr Noblet.
If you want to go even further back though check out Exit 57 which they made before SWC. youtube.com/watch?v=aD8A3ay16rA&feature=related
he looks like Andrew Denton for some reason.
He was in an episode of Spin City that was on GO! a few weeks ago.
Yep big fan of strangers with Candy here too. Wasn’t his name Mr jellyneck?
@Nick, thanks so much – I didn’t know about the film – I’m a huge Colbert and Sedaris (both siblings) fan … these days I have to get my Colbert/Daily Show fix via iTunes but I don’t mind. At least I get to laugh at American politics every day.
Colbert is an improv genius.
Nick you are so right! Love the series and the movie… brilliant!! And way before Swift and Shift and Housos Politically incorrectness.
He was also in the outrageously good Comedy Central show ‘Strangers with Candy’. It was about a 46 year old who is going back to high school. He, along with the actress who played the main character, the hilarious Amy Sedaris, and Paul Dinello wrote it. It is very much worth watching.
