Seven has come onboard a cartoon co-production between producers in Australia, North America and Europe.
Teenage Fairytale Dropouts (52×11′) sees SLR Productions (Dex Hamilton, Gasp, I Got a Rocket) join with Mexico’s Anima Estudios, the US’s Home Plate Entertainment and Ireland’s Telegael.
Aimed at 7 -11 years, Â the series follows three best friends, who are second-generation fairytale characters determined to live their own lives.
CEO of SLR Suzanne Ryan said, “Aussie kids will connect with the series – it is fun and quirky. It is a fresh spin on timeless classic characters.”
It’s tough being a teenager. School. Family. Social life. Social networks. It’s a lot of pressure, especially if you’re expected to follow in your parents’ footsteps and become, say, a doctor or a lawyer or a giant or a… Hey, wait a minute. A giant?!
Yes. A giant. Or worse, a Tooth Fairy.
Now that’s pressure.
So imagine if your parents were iconic fairytale characters with celebrity status who can cast amazing spells, fly on tiny fairy wings or take out an entire village with a single stomp of their big toe? Wouldn’t that make your teen life even harder
The series will launch in 2013.
