Bumped: Blue Bloods. Update: Psych, Burn Notice.

Update: ONE is making some changes to its Monday line-up -but the channel is still sending mixed messages.

ONE is making some changes to its Monday line-up on January 9th, but it’s too early to know if the move is permanent or not.

The line-up of Psych, Burn Notice and Blue Bloods will now be replaced with:

7:30pm Whose Line Is It Anyway?
8:00pm Whose Line Is It Anyway?
8:30pm Melbourne International Comedy Festival Presents: The Comedy All Stars Cabaret
10:00pm Blue Bloods
11:00pm M*A*S*H (rpt)

Season Four of Psych wraps on ONE next Monday night (the Hopman Cup plays the following week) so it looks like no segue into Season Five.

Update: Burn Notice shifts to 8:30pm Wed Jan 11 with “No Good Deed.” The new Monday line-up continues on Jan 16. with more WLIIA, Comedy Festival specials and Blue Bloods.

I still feel ONE is sending mixed messages about what it is a brand. Having shifted from a Sports channel to a Sports + male-skewed entertainment I have difficulty understanding how some shows are male-oriented. It is further complicated by playing classic sitcoms that could be better suited alongside other classic sitcoms on ELEVEN.

ONE’s numbers haven’t been so remarkable as to presume its re-branding is yet complete. Will be interesting to see where this goes in the new year…

Corrected.

  1. Really annoyed about losing the nba coverage.
Don’t understand why they couldn’t at least show a couple
of the bucks games(with andrew bogut) that don’t already have broadcast rights , they couldn’t be very expensive if bought directly from milwaukee.

  2. As someone that mostly watched OneHD, the changes I’m seeing lately are really disappointing. I can not imagine that crap like MASH rates any higher than say an NBA or even NBL game. Looks like everything’s going to plan for the owners though. Remove OneHD as a rival to their Pay Tv investments, strip the entire network back to bare bones, lock up the sporting rights for Fox Sports with no competition, then look to sell the Ten network which is running on the cheap.

  3. Love Whose Line is it Anyway. Whenever we go away on holidays, it’s probably the thing I watch most on PayTV. I agree though, it’s more of a play-the-show-during-the-day-on-ELEVEN show.

  4. what, that sucks. couldn’t they have had this new lineup minus Blue Bloods on Thursday nights? they just show movies on that night now anyway, since they have movies on fridays thursday would be the better night. but perhaps they wanna take some shows off for the rest of the summer? specials like ‘Melbourne International Comedy Festival’ usually air on Ten anyway, why couldn’t they have put it there?

  5. Seriously WTF. I loved Monday nights mainly because they didn’t muck around with their programming, well not for a while anyway. Seems like they have the same affliction 9 and GO! have.

I agree with Cam. Themed nights are the way to go.

  6. I kind of expected TEN to stop Psych at the end of Season 4, though I was hoping they would put something else on for the School Holiday period, something like Eureka for instance (which is a family show really but at least in HD).

I would actually like to see TEN get hold of Chuck off Channel 9 (who have aborted it one too many times), would be good to have Psych followed by Chuck next year, then Burn Notice, then Blue Bloods.

Themed nights would be good I guess I am saying.

  7. How dumb is this?? Psych is now halfway through season 6 in the US. ONE could easily show season 5, and then all of season 6 with no interuptions. This would allow them to fast track season 7 next September.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? would be better suited to ELEVEN at 7pm, getting rid of Raymond repeats. Also, Jeopardy should be back at 6pm, not MASH, and I cant understand why it needs to be shown at 6pm and then again at 11pm! Its definitely ‘must miss’ TV not ‘must see’.

  8. Any Psych fans who missed season 3, it might be worth noting that TV1 will play it weekdays from Thurs 29th at 9am. I’m pretty sure S3 is new to Foxtel (although it has been played on Ten/ONE)

  9. Actually Burn Notice is not repeats, at least for free to air as Channel Ten has not shown the eps currently screening on One. I have been watching and they are all new epsiodes

  10. Burn Notice has been new episodes of Season 5, I think this week’s was episode 3, the current season playing in the U.S. As a fan of the show, it’s disappointing to see it taken off.

  11. In hindsight ONE should have been Sports plus GE all along. Yes it was ambitious to think sports would have the number to carry the channel but IMO they should have had sport during the day with other shows on in the evenings only preempted when a live sports calls for it, like the F1.

Yes it will be interesting to see how they go in 2012.

  12. Damn, I was really enjoying Psych and Burn Notice. We haven’t seen all the series of Psych, something to do with TDT not being proper Channel 10, so I was happy to see it was on. The same thing happened with Burn Notice, they messed about the last series and then stopped showing it so it has been All New for us. I wish they would make up their minds, but thank you very much for the warning.

  13. Actually David, ONE has been showing new episodes of Burn Notice for several weeks. It finished off season 4, showed the prequel movie and as of this Monday the first three episodes of season 5.

  14. Actually they are playing season 5 eps of Burn Notice which are new in AU. The arch nemesis story arc will begin on Monday, and then they cancel? Cripes. One has apparently been sucked into Ten’s programming void. All puns intended.
