It’s still early days but Mike Goldman has been in discussions to return to the Big Brother franchise in 2012.
Goldman was the narrator of the TEN series, as well as the host of Up Late and Friday Night Live. He remains very popular with long-time fans of the show and could bring a lot of experience to the production.
Goldman told the Courier Mail he’d had initial talks about reprising his role “in some form” when Big Brother is revived on Nine.
He’d also had a phone call from a Today Tonight producer looking for phone numbers of past contestants for a “Big Brother ruined my life” story (HotDogs where are you when they need you?).
Call me crazy but I reckon A Current Affair has probably done a few of those in the past too.
Big Brother will air after the Olympics with host Sonia Kruger.

Mike Goldman was such an integral part of the show – we need him back!
Sorry everyone, Natalie was often referred to as The Goronz when she did xfactor last year. I just assumed everyone knew. She did make an impact on that show and she deserves another go at a high profile show.
God no no no. He was the smuttiest most self absorbed tool ever. Why rehash part of the garbage that led to the demise of this show? Not that it has any chance of surviving on the garbage network its going on
Wow, BB certainly pushes people’s buttons! Over 40 comments in just over 24 hours. It has to be one of the most commented upon news stories on TT this year.
Maybe a push from a BB fanpage, but far from one of the most commented stories here.

I believe Mike Goldman will do the big brother shows of any type of content with that. But it wont be the other past hosuemates in the game as a commentator. That can not happen specialy when big brother is starting all over again as a starting point of view and well and truely first time on channel 9.
However it is yet like you said early days so we really don’t fully now whats in the bag of suprises. But i believe more info would pop out one place to the next around feb 2012 when we now more then today.
Big brother will defently be at the same location. Anna beligh did said she wanted the show back at the goldcoast to boost the economic up and more tours in queensland. But that depends where big brother wishes to be located.
Mike goldman is a great guy. Ive chatted to him back in the early days of big brother online. He still is around making these odd ocasion with rebel sports commercial gears.
Who on earth is “the Goronz” you talk about her like everyone knows who that is. Is it like the Fonz???? I surveyed 3 people and we all didn’t know who that is. Thats a large sample size and a 100% outcome of WTF is “the Goronzzzz”.
I love how people are expecting a “smart” “intelligent” show. Do you realise this is about Big Brother?
It does not matter who they get. This show cannot work in 2012. The people who are supporting this show are old fans. Nine has to get the new generation to watch as well. This will be the problem. They will see Big Brother as an old show. They spend all their time on the net and mainly facebook.Sonia Krugar is ok for DWTS but for a show like BB they need someone a bit more hip like a Ruby Rose or The Goronz.
Mike is one of the most talented people on TV. He should host a tonight show. He is better than Rove and has proved it on many occasions. Unfortunately BB has been a blessing and a curse. He will do an Amazing job and I hope he’s Sonia’s co-host on the new version. What a wasted talent thus far…
Australian television – where too much mediocrity is not enough.
Goldman will be the no1 radio host in Australia next year. Bb would be crazy not to include him. His intelligence, charisma and empathy should be utilized. Good luck mike!
Mike is perfect as narrator of the daily shows. Just not a host.
His introduction of ‘Gretel Killlleeeennn” was gold. Can just hear ‘Sonia Kruuuuuger’ haha
He shouldn’t be back. It needs to be fresh. By the end of the ten days update and fnl were more about the hosts and their egos (i.e. mike’s ego) than the housemates. For narration, they need a younger feel to it like the guy from the tourism QLD ad.
Channel nine needs to disassociate any reference to previous years to be a success.
Great idea. I’m a long term fan and can’t wait to have it back. It won’t be the same without Mike so hopefully he is back in the mix!

Mike is one of the most entertaining and best live hosts on TV. I would watch BB if he was back. Moke kept the show going and it would not be the same without him.

Mike kept the show together in the last few years and upstaged Kyle when he filled. Nine need him.
Bring on Mikey G !! Why wouldn’t u have him ? He’s got one of the best voice overs in the country . It would be silly not to get him on the show/network
