Nine is inviting viewers to send Twitter messages to friends that will be broadcast during its countdown to 2012 tomorrow night.

Tweet your family, friends and loved ones using the hash tag #NYEon9. Then sit back and watch Nine’s coverage of all the action from Sydney Harbour as messages from around the country are broadcast on screen.

Perhaps you’ve got a New Year’s resolution that you’d like to share with the whole of Australia. Or maybe you want to let the entire country know that you love your special someone. Use the specially created hash tag and broadcast your message to the nation.

Nine’s broadcast will be hosted by Cameron Williams and Jesinta Campbell with appearances by Kermit the Frog, Jason Segel, Jimeoin, crosses to Pet Shop Boys, Jamiroquai, Culture Club, plus Richard Wilkins, Jaynie Seal and news highlights from Peter Harvey.

Saturday, December 31, from 8.30pm on Channel Nine.

  1. Wow, Nine listened. (LOL) No ugly graffiti, except for the large, brilliant white WIN logo we had to suffer.
    Something’s gone awry. I didn’t post…..

Oh Channel nine my last memory of 2011 was David Campbell singing Goody two shoes. (Very badly) Thanks for that.

    1. I think, like those Today Tonight letter writers, people just used Google and overlooked the detail again. First time Twitter writers? Searching for NYEon9 my site came up as #1 but alas I did not find these until after the broadcast ended.

  2. Given the NYE fireworks will be shown on delay in QLD, SA, NT and WA, people in these regions will have to post their messages early so they can be shown on air in time.
