It’s time!
Voting begins today on the annual TV Tonight Awards.
Now in its fifth year, this is your chance to look back on the best and worst of Australian and International Television.
It’s all here: Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Morning Programme, Best Lifestyle, Favourite Male, Worst Female, Most Underrated Performer, Most Overexposed, Best New Show, Worst Show, Best Channel and more…
The annual “Story of the Year” stands above all others as the most significant issue or moment in Aussie TV. And this year a new category: Biggest Blunder -what was the one they will never live down?
There are also some mandatory demographic questions about and a new question that asks about key aspects of the site. You’ll see why soon….
As always the survey is lengthy, designed for those who are passionate about TV and takes some 10 mins to complete: 39 questions in all.
Voting will take place across an extra week this year, closing on Friday December 30.

Yes, of course – this is awards for TV programs. Thanks David. Me numpty.
@Jezza – good comedy? At Home with Julia? Hamster Wheel? Both superb.
sorted….very hard to find a good aussie comedy/sketch show…I guess the best/only one was Ben Elton ha ha ha
I voted Game of Thrones for best new intl series and Homeland for the best show we are yet to see.
At least Nat Bar doesn’t have a knife! Did the survey. I assume everyone will suggest big news for TV was Peter Everitt’s axing.
SS: Questions are identical to 2010 with one new category added. I asked those questions in the Audience Inventory just a few months ago. You’re confusing the two surveys.
MuchoTB: Homeland is ineligible as per the note shows must have aired on Aussie TV sorry!
Jezza: Please try again?
Done. Bit different from previous years. No Q’s asking what annoys us the most or which network is the worst for starting late/bumping/dumping/random scheduling. But I guess that we already know what the majority of responses will be to those, and the networks haven’t listened in the past, so no changes are to be expected on either side.
Slightly concerned regarding the coming changes as I kinda like things the way they are. Except for the separate daily ratings posts – not a fan. It worked much better when they followed the ratings week and each day’s data was appended. This allowed for conversations to occur in the comments over a couple of days which doesn’t seem to be happening now.
I think an underrated award is ironic. If someone can win a peoples vote award they can hardly be underrated. Otherwise really looking forward to the results.
I also voted for The X Factor Australia as best Reality. Amazing Race Australia was great this year as well
I voted for Homeland over Game of Thrones for best new international series. GoT was entertaining but Homeland is better IMO
Everyone vote for Misfits for best international comedy!! I voted for it for best international drama too, simply because I wasn’t sure which category it fit in better
True Blood was great this year as well. There was no Mad Men this year so I doubt it will win
could not get past the first 4 questions. A survey closed message came up.
You’ve missed one David, Pen Abuse.
How many hosts, panellists and commentators cannot make a point without, ahem, pointing!
The 2011 biggest Pen pointer, twirler and fiddler…?
Yes, you Natalie Barr!
(do you think she walks around home with one too?)
I think i surveyed but not sure if it’s submitted.
