69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: guide

Nominees, presenters and Aussie broadcast details are here for Monday's Golden Globe Awards with the one and only Ricky Gervais.

Steel yourself for a barrage of barbs when Ricky Gervais takes to the stage to host the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

After last year they said “never again.” But Ricky gives the awards a buzz all of their own. I give him 5 minutes before he makes a joke about it being the 69th ceremony.

In Australia you can watch Live on FOX8, with alternate Red Carpet coverage Live on E!

Sadly there is no Free to Air broadcast, but TV Tonight will be here blogging Live Results.

Guy Pearce is the only Aussie nominated in a TV category.

  1. Freeview is getting worse and worse. This is just another classic example of how bad it really is. One would think that the big stations actually want their viewers to buy Fox… very disappointed.

  2. I agree! It’s absolutely disgraceful that’s it’s not on FTA. Now you have to cable to have a golden globe party in Aunstralia….shamefull…only for the wealthy…what about the good old ozzie battler…so un-Austalian! 🙁

  3. OK belated response from me but only because I hadn’t realised it wasn’t FTA until I checked start times today. Aaargh! This is the first year I’ve actually wanted to watch it live, because of Gervais. Bet there’s a few more like me out there cursing right now. Hope it includes dumb programmers.

  4. freeview are happy to spend a fortune on advertising how fabulous it is – how about forking out some money to put a decent tv event on free to air – shame on free view, how about putting on a show that’s less than 20 years old?

  5. Beyond p*ssed off that it’s not FTA. It will get a much bigger audience than any other award show because of King Ricky. Stupid stupid move. Will be following Ricky on twitter, the way of the future you dummy tv programmers.

  6. Interesting to look at the line up for presenters. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ricky goes after Kutcher and Downey Jr again. Helen Mirren and Mila Kunis/Natalie Portman will surely get some sort of intro by Gervais.

It was great to see him on Conan say the main reason he is doing a 3rd is to piss off all the people on the internet who said he’d never even be invited back.
